Mangunan is name of orchard located in
Yogyakarta, precisely lies in Mangunan, sub district of Dlingo, Regency of
Batul, Province of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This place serves a garden which full
of trees such as guava, rambutan (Nephelium tree bearing fruit similiar to
lychee), mangoes, durian, duku, orange, mangoesteen (manggis), etc. Mostly of
them planted in a lot of sum. There are fuit tree which planted in a little
sum, such as matoa, kelengkeng (fruit similar to rambutan or lychee but smaller
with smooth brown skin), guava, cempedak, and star fruit. This place has a lot
of kind of fruit tree, it can be appropriate place for you to learn about plant
especially for fruit plant.

Besides the trees it has wonderful view,
mostly visitor think better enjoy this place for enjoy the view than pick the
fruit. This place located about 150-200 meters from surface of seas, so you can
enjoy thousands mountain railway from above. In the morning (about 6 am) thick
fog covers the area and make the view like in sky, but it is really cold. Don't
forget to take your jacket! This area has wide range about 23,3415 hectare.
Here, you can observe beach (Parangtritis beach) from far away in south-land,
also the view of Bantul city from above in west-land. This place also has kine
which has purpose in order provide natural fertilizer (waste cow product) for
the trees. It also for cow ranch, provide cow meat.

Even thought having wonderful view, it
takes several time to reach this place. You have to ride through tortuous and
fluctuates street. You should be careful while ride your vehicle. If you are
foreigner, although there isn't public transportation reach this place, a lot
of car rental are ready bring you in this place safely.

Rp. 300.000,- or US$ 25 for 12 hour (include driver and fuel). If you like
challenge, you have to try ride bicycle for reach this place. There are bicycle
lover ride their bicycle to reach this place. But, it has a lot of energy extra
for reach this place. This place also provides home stay for you who want to
spend all night long here. It is also precise place for celebrate new year,
holiday, or Christmas with all of your family.
