Central java has many famous object tourism. One of them is Dieng Plateau tourism which has many spot object tourism. The most famous is kawah si kidang, kawah is crater and kidang is deer. Name of location taken by its legend.
According to the native story, there was lived a beautiful princess named Shinta Dewi. Many young men want to married her. A big prince who has head like deer wants to marry with her. Shinta Dewi didn’t want to marry him, but she can’t refuse his marriage proposal. So, she decided to give requirement. Before she accepted his marriage proposal, the prince has to make a big and deep well. The prince begin makes them with his power. But, the princess is cheat. When the prince been under the well, the princess ask the citizen to bury the prince. He tries to go out but he can’t. From the well, the princess uses his power to make earthquake and cause many crater. One of them is sikidang, because this crater always move from one place to another places, like a deer. In Dieng object tourism, there are about 8 craters which is observable, that is candradimuka, Sibanteng, Siglagah, Sikendang, Sikidang, Sileru, Sinila and Timbang. Those craters which put outside of them are potential possessed put outside toxic gas, that is Sikendang, Sinila, and Timbang.
Sikidang crater offering you natural, it smells sulfur but this gas is not toxic. You have to bring master for alleviate this smell. But don’t worry if you don’t bring masker. There are seller sell many cheap masker (about Rp. 2000,- or US$0.2). Here, you can get beautiful spot view for take a picture like this picture bellow.

I am not sure what is type of soil in here, but I think it’s like white sand. This is not place for have any consolation or entertainment, but when you visit Dieng object tourism plateau, I guess, it is a must. It is near from “Telaga Warna” and the awesome one “Si Kunir”. You need walk from park area till to the crater, it is about 200 meters.
As long as route, there are many seller sell sulfur. According to the seller, it’s good for skin health. You’ll find very small stream and the water contains sulfur. When you arrive to the crater, you’ll find a big well with steam which has smell of sulfur. You can smell them when the wind took the smell of sulfur from the steam come to you. When you don’t smell them, it means there is a foul wind with you. So, when you don’t like this smell, you can choose place with foul wind.
