Parangtritis located in south of the Yogyakarta city. From the town towards Parangtritis beach is about 25 kilometers. Public transport is pretty much past the beach, it is s bus with lane of Jogja-Parangtritis. Travelers who want to reach the Parangtritis beach can take a bus from the Giwangan bus station (main bus station in Yogyakarta), select a lane Jogja-Parangtritis bus. Bus will take tourists towards the outskirt of the closest road to the Parangtritis beach. The next trip is done on foot about 5 minutes to reach the beach. Facilities available at Parangtritis beach is pretty complete as hotels, cheap lodging, food stalls, and souvenir shop.
Parangtritis is a beach with black sand and has big enough waves. Levy entrance fee of Parangtritis beach is IDR 3000 or USD 0.3 for each person. Parangtritis has several tourist activities that can attract tourists. Those tourist activities are All Terrain Vehicle (ATV), horse-drawn carriage, flying kites which has an unique shape, horse riding and surfing. Bendi is one of five fascinations in Parangtritis beach

Riding ATV
The price to rent an ATV for 15 minutes. ATV with four wheels can be ridden by two people. Visitors are welcome to use the ATV along the edge of the beach. Visitors who like adventure with ATV can increase their skills passed a sand dune. There are 170 units of ATV scattered at several points around the beach.

Riding a horse-drawn carriage
Delman is a traditional vehicle that does not need fuel to run them. To be able to move the wagon needed horsepower. Delman was once the best transportation in Yogyakarta before there are many motorcycles and cars. Popularity of delman is getting knocked out by engined vehicles. Although there are still some delman that operate in Yogyakarta but its amount is very little. That is because many of people are turning to use motorized vehicles. Delman which are in Parangtritis beach is a wagon in a smaller size, commonly referred to Bendi. Delman has four wheels, while Bendi only has two wheels. Both use the horsepower to move them. Rates go up Bendi at Parangtritis beach is IDR 20,000 or USD 2 for each lap around the outskirt of the beach. In one of Bendi can carry two to three people and a driver called the coachman (kusir).

Flying kites
Flying kites which are uniquely shaped to be one of the charms of Parangtritis beach. Shape of kites are diverse and unusual can make visitors amazed. The Kites shape is the creation of the seller, usually in the form of various kinds of birds imagination. There is an interesting event in Parangkusumo beach (beach in the west Parangtritis beach), that is kites festival. The kites festival held every year, usually in June-August. The kites shape in kites festival is very unique and diverse as dragons, rockets, ships, and puppet characters. Various forms of kite can rise into the air because there is quite strong winds there.

Riding a horse
Travelers who want to feel awesome, could try to ride a horse to surround the seaside parangtritis. There is a guide who will faithfully accompany if you do not dare to ride a horse. Horse riding price is IDR 20,000 or USD 10,000 (negotiable).

Surfing
Waves condition in Parangtritis beach is a very strong that makes this beach can be used as a means of surfing. There are few tourists and locals who surf  in this beach, but not so much. This was due to the surfing is lesser-known sport in Yogyakarta. Lack of education to surf safely and myths about the queen of the south coast, can be two of several factors that cause surfing sport is not famous here.
