Every place definitely has its own customs and way of life as people who have a culture. Even though, it sometimes seems strange to several people, but makes interesting of course. One of the unique custom ceremony is Ngaben, cremation ceremony custom in Bali. Bali is famous for its beautiful object tourism and customary thick. No wonder that Bali has a lot of visitors each day, both coming from inside the country or abroad. Visitors include the lucky when the can see firsthand cremation ceremony called Ngaben. There are two version of the origin Ngaben name. First version, cremation comes from the word of Beya which has mean a provisions. Simply put, cremation ceremony performed for stock provision to the cadaver to face God. The second version, cremation is a shift in the language of the word Ngapian which means fire. As we know that fire becomes important role during the cremation ceremony.

Ngaben ceremony is lasts long and has a sequence in implementation. Ngaben ceremony The groove of Ngaben ceremony consists of Ngulapin, Nyiramin, Ngajum Kajang, Ngaskara, Mameras, Pepegatan, Pakiriman Utang, Ngeseng, Nganyud, and Makelud. Its name may be a little strange for foreigners, and this was the explanation of these names.
  1. Ngulapin, this activity is intended to call the soul. This ritual is only performed if the corpse died outside the home, such as hospitals.
  2. Nyiramin, this ritual is performed to clean up the bodies, commonly practiced in her/his family house yard
  3. Ngajum Kajang, This ritual is performed to pressing a Kajang by his/her family for three times (a white paper bearing the magical alphabet), the goal is for convince the corpse that families have been sincerely for his/her death and allow to go to afterlife.
  4. Nagaskara, the ritual to purification the soul. The goal is in order to her/his soul can unite with God and give guidance to the surviving family.
  5. Mameras, this ritual is only performed if the corpse already have grandchildren. Mameras has meaning a successful, that is someone who has had a grandchild is considered a success because the grandchildren who will guide the way through prayer.
  6. Pepegatan, this ritual in the form cut white thread stretched between two trees by the family. A symbol to break the mundane relationship from his/her family.
  7. Pakiriman Utang, This activity is done after pepegatan ritual, the corpse and the awning was added to tower pallbearers (the higher tower, the better, because the higher tower will be closer to God). In the tower the corpse paraded rotates counter-clockwise three times and in three places. Three places that are home (farewell symbol to the family), crossroad / road junction (farewell symbol to society), and graves (farewell symbol to the world).
  8. Ngeseng, Ngeseng ritual is a form of cremation. The corpse was laid in place which have been provided later burned to charred. Remaining bone is crushed and placed in a container.
  9. Nganyud is a shift in the language from the word "hanyut" that is washed away. This ceremony is done in the sea or river.
  10. Makelud, this ritual is usually performed 12 days after the burning ceremony. This ritual has meaning to purify and eliminate family grief after left.

The cost to do this ceremony is very expensive, thus several families who don't have enough money joined together to perform this ceremony to be less costly. That bit of information regarding cremation ceremonies "Ngaben". Each region has different customs. The difference is not to be a problem, should the difference be a way for us to know each other and make us rich.
