Malioboro has become
Yogyakarta icon since long time ago and it also becomes main tourist
destination. Everyday, Malioboro is crowded by people because it provides various types of stores (souvenir, clothing, kind of culinary), cafe, etc, and it is also easy for everyone to reach the location. Now it has new face. The last renovation happened during 2016. Sri Sultan HB X as the governor of Yogyakarta uses new year eve 2017 to announce officially Malioboro new face. Actually, it has been renovated several times to make tourist comfortable.
In the schedule, Malioboro renovation will be held until 2019. The first renovation project which has been lasted since April 2016 is focused on pedestrian in the east side. The second project will be focused on pedestrian in the west side and structuring the sidewalk on the east side of up to 0 km point. In 2018, the construction is planed to construct the east and west side of the sidewalk along the sidewalk in Margautomo. Still in the same year, It is also planed to construct the pedestrian until 0 km point in the west side. Project will finish in 2019, the target renovation is pavement on Pangurakan.
