Bromo is a named of mountain which is located in Indonesia, especially province of East Java. Bromo is a volcano that still active right now (2015), the last eruption happened in 2011. Because of them, Bromo become famous object tourism in East Java. Bromo located in center of four regencies that is Probolinggo, Pasuruan, Lumajang, and Malang. Bromo also is known by Mount of Brahma, its name taken by Sansekerta language which has meaning the main Lord in Hinduism.

Around bromo, there are unique ethnic group that called “Tengger” and mostly people who you are founded in Bromo are ethnic Tengger. Name of Tengger taken by its myth, which is a composite from its main character, Roro An-“teng” and Joko se-“ger”. This ethnic believe that they have live lineage from empire of Majapahit which has been the biggest kingdom in the past, according to the history of Indonesia. Tengger ethnic are known as high loyalty to the rule and Hinduism. During this time, ethnic Tengger still do ritual Yadnya Kasada in Bromo like what their ancestor in the past.

Bromo object tourism consists of caldera, volcano, alternative hill, and Teletubbies hill. I guess, there is an advice for visit then in the right order for one day. Check-in the hotel around Bromo which can make you reach Bromo at least for about 2 hours. First looking sun rise in alternative hill, you have to leave your hotel before at dawn to get the sun rise. Alternative hill or common people is called by kingkong (chimpanzee) hill because this shape like chimpanzee which has being slept.
Second time when the sun is going up, the destination goes to caldera. For you who don’t like walk so far away, there are horses which are ready done for ride (rent cost about Rp 150.000 or USD 13). Don’t worry for you who can’t ride the horse, there are guide who always take you care. Walk to the sand or ride your rent horse until park area for horse then go up through staircase to peak of volcano.

Now, you are on the top of volcano. You have to always be careful because it is dangerous enough. But it is still safe if you don’t do anything which can make you dangerous, like jump in to crater. Enjoy everything which you can’t do in another place.

When you have been satisfied, get down through the staircase and goes to teletubbies hill. It is called by teletubbies hill because this land similar with tubbies land (popular cartoon in the beginning 2000s). The green hill will accompany you spend your time for lying, dancing, or anything else.

For reach the Bromo object tourism from your hotel, you need to rent a Jeep because the path isn’t good enough (rent cost for Jeep is Rp 500.000 or USD 38).
