A national monument that has peak like a flame that is always lit and never goes out. This fire made from a bronze weighing 14.5 tons coated by 35 kilograms of gold and shaped resemble flame. The fire has a height of 14 meters and a diameter of 6 meters. Location of Indonesian National Monument or often referred to as MONAS located in the center town of Jakarta. Jakarta is the capital city of Indonesia and has been there before Indonesia's independence. Jakarta City recently celebrated its 488th anniversary in 2015. The Monument was built to commemorate the struggle of Indonesian heroes in the fight and earn a decent living as Indonesia. Indonesian National monument built since 1961, development this monument based on the proposed of the idea from the first president of Indonesia (Sukarno). Besides being used to commemorate the struggle of the Indonesian hero, this monument is also used to evoke the spirit of nasionalisme and patriotisme the Indonesian next generation Indonesian to keep their independence.

Construction of the monument was designed by Friedrich Silaban and RM Soedarsono. This monument has several parts: the main gate, museum history room, the independence room, the Cawan courts, body of the monument, top of the monument, and the flames of Independence. This building has a height of 132 meters (433 feet) and was built on a land area of 80 hectares. The court of MONAS surrounded by reliefs depicting the history of Indonesia. The front yard of the monument there is a statue of a prince who was on horseback, the statue was made from 8 tons bronze. The prince is one of the Indonesian hero. Monas development concept is based on the concept of universal couple, Lingga and Yoni. Monument obelisk symbolizes the phallus and obelisk foundation of Cawan is Yoni.
The existence of this monument is now becoming one of the tourist destinations. Many people visit Monas to spend their holidays. Location Monas is located in the center town so that the access to the location is very convenient. To be able to sign to the Indonesian national monument, the visitor must pay entrance fee of 2000 for kids, 5000 for adults, and 10,000 to foreign tourists. Pengunjung can use the elevator to get to the court at the top at an altitude of 115 meters above the ground. This courtyard has a size of 11x11 meters and can accommodate about 50 people. The visitors can see each corner of the Jakarta city from above. Monument is open every day starting at 8 am to 3 pm (closed every last Monday in a month).
