Monalisa is works of a painter which became the most influential painter in the world ie Leonardo Da Vinci. Painting of a smiling face still becomes a mystery until now, about who is the actual Monalisa? Monalisa painting is currently present in the Louvre museum, Paris, France. Actually, all collection of historical objects in the Louvre museum are more than 380,000 pieces, but only a few historic objects on display in the museum. Monalisa along with almost 35,000 historic objects were well kept and exhibited in the Louvre museum. Several other relics in the Louvre museum are Terracotta cup, Rebellious Slave (Michelangelo, 1513-1536), Marcus Agrippa (25 BC), the Eros Medallion (250-200 BC), Cycladic (2700-2300 BC ), etc. The existence of historical objects become one of the tourist attraction in order to visit this museum. Thus, the Louvre museum becomes the biggest and the most frequented art museum.
The Louvre Museum
The Louvre museum has an area of 60,600 square meters. At first, this museum is a fortress which built in the 12th century under the leadership of Philip II. This fort was later built gradually so that it becomes like the Louvre palace, a building that can be seen today. Louvre palace used as home for important people in France, until the end, Louis XIV chose Versailles palace as his private residence in 1682. Since then, the Louvre palace becomes a place to display the royal collection. For the first time, the museum is opened in August 10, 1793 and was ever closed in 1796 to 1801 because of problems in the building structure. At the time of Napoleon, the Louvre museum been renamed with the Musée Napoleon. The name of museum back as the previous after the collection which acquired during the reign of Napoleon confiscated and returned to the original owners because of Napoleon's defeat in the battle of Waterloo.
The Louvre museum is located in the Palais Royal, Musée du Louvre, 75001 Paris, France. Since 2008, all the collection in the Louvre museum grouped into 8 departement ie Egyptian Antiquities; Near Eastern Antiquities; Islamic Art; Sculpture; Decorative Arts; Paintings; Prints and Drawings; and Greek, Etruscan, and Roman Antiquities. The Louvre museum has a glass pyramid (Louvre pyramid) that became icons and able to increase the visitors, the glass pyramid is becoming increasingly well known because became a place for shooting in the The Da Vinci Code movie. The Louvre museum has three main entrances, one of them is in the Louvre pyramid. To get to the Louvre museum, visitors can use public transport ie Metro (subway) through the Louvre-Rivoli, line 1. The Louvre museum is always open every day, except Tuesday, new year, Labor Day, and Christmas Day.
